Amravati Murder Case: Even before the brutal murder of Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the investigation of the murder of drug dealer Umesh Kolhe in Amravati, Maharashtra in a similar manner. Seven people, including mastermind Sheikh Irfan Sheikh Rahim, have been arrested in connection with the murder on June 21. Irfan is the seventh accused who has been arrested. He was trying to escape when the police caught him. Irfan runs an NGO.

Umesh's brother Mahesh Kolhe has made a shocking revelation. Mahesh told that Yusuf Khan, who was involved in the murder case, is a doctor in Amravati and had a good friendship with Umesh. Yusuf used to come to the medical and buy medicines. Not only this, he also came to Umesh's house many times. After carrying out the murder, Yusuf also tried to escape. He attended Umesh's funeral so that no one would know and doubt. Eventually he was caught. According to the police, Yusuf was in the WhatsApp group of doctors and medical personnel in which Umesh forwarded a post supporting Nupur Sharma. From here Umesh's post was carried by Yusuf to Sheikh Irfan. Then Irfan plotted the murder.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikram Sali, two accused Mudassir Ahmed and Shahrukh Pathan were arrested on June 23 following the FIR written by the deceased's son Sanket. During the interrogation of both, the names of four more people came to the fore. Of these, three Abdul Tawfiq, Shoaib Khan and Atib Rashid were also arrested on June 25. Irfan and veterinary doctor Yusuf Khan, who are believed to be the masterminds of the murder, were arrested on Saturday. Irfan, arrested from Nagpur, had asked two people to keep an eye on Umesh. He had also arranged 10 thousand rupees and a car to the killers to carry out the murder.
Regional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikram Sali told the media that in this case the local police have added two more sections 120B and 109 of the IPC. Police said that this murder has been carried out for supporting a controversial statement of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. NIA will also investigate whether there is any connection between the incidents of Amravati and Udaipur.
Veterinary doctor broadcast message to Muslim community
The killers have told the police that the murder happened because of supporting Nupur Sharma. Yusuf Khan, a veterinary doctor from Amravati, circulated messages sent by Umesh Kolhe in some WhatsApp groups in support of Nupur Sharma to the Muslim community. He said look this person is supporting the one who speaks against our religion and you guys buy medicine from his shop. Provoked by these messages of Yusuf Khan, the mastermind of the incident, Irfan Khan hatched a conspiracy to murder.
